Traditional Okinawan karate is ultimately a practical personal defence system that has proven to be effective. These sessions are taught in a structured way to enable techniques to be developed fully without risk of injury. In a typical session, we would cover:
Warm up (30-35mins)
1. Cardiovascular movements (games included)
2. Flexibility (stretches, gentle mobility)
Main session (45mins)
1. Karate training (Kihon, Kata, Kumite)
2. Pad-work (kicks, punches and combos)
3. Drills and situation awareness)
4. Core training
Cool down (20-25mins)
1. Stretches/mobility
2. Respects and send-offs
