About

Do you love to write? (Or Are you an aspiring writer?)
The writing club is a space for student writers of all media to come together and practice writing, share ideas, and access beta readers for each other's work.
Each month, we will work from a different prompt to produce a piece of writing, ensuring all types of writing are given a chance to shine. This will help you to work on building a varied, professional writing portfolio to show to potential employers, and help you gain access to beta readers, enabling you to get feedback from your peers within the group.
Each session, we will learn about how to gain access to various free resources that will help you continue to maintain and build upon your existing writing skills. We will learn about organisations open to supporting new writers, including where to look for funding, commissions, and submissions, and learn where to gain insider knowledge from professionals in the business.
By joining the club, you will be able to build on skills such as communication and confidence, which are essential to pitch your ideas to industry professionals
For beginners and intermediate writers, we will learn how to gain access to free resources to help you improve on things like grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
If you are interested in joining the club, please come along to our next event! Open to all students, at all levels of study – even if you are not involved in a writing-specific course.
If you are an advanced-level student and would like to help in the running of the club, please get in touch at citysa@cityofglasgowcollege.ac.uk
